Guajira Land of Enchantment

La Guajira is the land which is further north of Colombia has an area of 22.825km2.

It is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and Venezuela to the east by the department of Magdalena on the west by the department of Cesar south and the Caribbean Sea to the north.

La Guajira constantly amazed by its many contrasts: the whiteness of the huge salt flats of Manaure - small white mountains that shine under the sun -; pink ibis groups like red sky color, black and white, that move into an area next to the lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary Los Flamecos; and the blackness of the coal mines of Cerrejón.

But in La Guajira there is only salt and coal, this is a place surrounded by a crystalline sea that bathes deserted sandy beaches. Cacti are highlighted in the wild desert, sand dunes and narrow dirt jumps: an inhospitable territory with a provocative legend.
